Getting ready for the apocalypse

Humans aren’t normally ready for human-eating mutants roaming the earth, the apocalypse IS survivable, how the apocalypse might happen is because of miscommunication while reading information about a new virus. Testing that same virus on a human being causing that human being to turn into one of the walking dead, then escaping the lab and biting people spreading the virus (Space Spore) to others, creating a worldwide pandemic.

You’d get one warning before the outbreak becomes critical you will be given 3 days to stock up on supplies, meds, food, water, and shelter, helping you have a chance of surviving the apocalypse.

It’d be best to find others when the major outbreak has occurred so you can travel in groups, protecting each other as well as sharing and caring for each other. Humans aren’t normally ready for human-eating mutants roaming the earth, the apocalypse IS survivable, how the apocalypse might happen is because of a miscommunication while reading information about a new virus. It’d be good to have weaponry, the best types are, katanas, sniper rifles, guns, and sometimes you can put together your own weaponry for e.g. grenades, using cloth, alcohol and fire you can make a molotov.

Sometimes you have to risk animals' lives for your survival, you hunt, kill, cook, then eat. You can also scavenge food, from abandoned buildings or you could get lucky and find the supermarket before it’s raided.

EOTC - Education Outside The Classroom

Last week we had 3 days outside of school the year groups 7-9, the places they went to were first on Wednesday we had Adrenalin Forest then on Thursday we went to Jellie Park on the last day (Friday) we went to the city. In the city we went to Botanic Gardens, the Museum and our last stop was Margarete Mahy. At Adrenalin Forest, we were taught the safety rules, how to clip on and clip off the clips, how to go on the flying foxes. I went up to level 2 it was a really fun experience and a privilege to learn. At Jellie Park I spend most of the time on the hydro-slide with my friends, then I overcame my fear of jumping off the big diving board. In the city I was walking around with my friends and when we were at the botanic gardens we were doing a quiz, and on the way there I saw my favorite fountain on the way inside the Museum, whilst we were in the museum we learned a lot about past and how people lived back then, then we went into this house in the museum that is decorated with shells by this old couple then at Margaret Mahy we ate then played on the playground, and I had fun on the spinning swing.

Drama

I picked these photos because they explain the scene very well.

The second and third photo has really good facial expressions and good bodily gestures.

We were doing freeze frames in groups of around four or five.

I found it quite fun to do freeze frames as we were learning as we go. Miss Allen told us about freeze frames, it's like stop-motion but in real life with real people.

What the Mars 2020 Rover mission is about

Mars Rover Perseverance is a robot that gets sent into space to help the people at NASA to find out information about the planet they send the Rover to gather if there was a past life, different plants, and rocks.

Perseverance Rover is going to Mars on a rocket called United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket. The Mars Science Laboratory and its rover centerpiece, Perseverance is the most recent Mars mission yet flown by NASA. The rover will land on Mars in 18 February 2021 with a primary mission to find out if Mars is, or was, suitable for life. Another objective is to learn more about the Red Planet's environment.

NASA has been sending different missions with different Rovers, one of the last ones was called Curiosity, according to research Curiosity was the most ambitious out of all the past Rover missions, that means that it was determined to seek the information people at NASA were looking for.

Navigation in Space

Here are some questions about space I can answer for you...

1. What is a Solar System? What is the Milky Way an example of?

The Solar System is a system indeed, it has stars, galaxies, planets, it's like a gallery for astronomical objects.

An example of the Milky Way is the galaxy that holds the Solar System in which the Earth is located.

2. What is a star? Describe a nebula.

A star is a part of space, some are suns, moons, or just stars. How stars are created is gas, the gas comes from the nebula helps the star officially forms.

A nebula is a giant cloud of dust and gas in space. Some more than one nebula comes from the gas and dust thrown out by the explosion of a dying star.

3. How do stars die?

They explode then the gas that was the form of the dead star goes into a Nebula then the Nebula forms another star using the gas from the dead star. A star can sometimes also turn into a Nebula.

4. Is there an up and or down in space?

No there is no up or down in space. That can mess with the human mind and affect the way people move and think in space.

5. How can starts help to navigate?

Sometimes sailors use stars to help navigate them back home. People use stars as a map.

How Bee's Make Honey

Firstly, Honey Bee’s use their long tongues to search through the middle of the flower where you find nectar, the Honey Bee continues to search through flowers, and flowers until their honey stomach is full. Once their honey stomach is full they make their way back to their beehive to produce the honey.

Secondly, the bee digests the nectar inside of them so when they get back to their beehive its melted and ready to be made into honey. When the bees get back to their beehive they pass the digested nectar by vomiting the digested nectar into the other bees.

Next, when each bee is finished thickening the nectar to make it into honey they find a space in the comb to put the thickened substance into it, they flap their wings harder enough to form wax over the thickened substance called honey.

Finally, the bees wait a while then when the honey is thick, gooey, sweet, and delicious it gets harvested by a beekeeper.

My story called 'Infection' - paragraph 2

...Staring right into Michaela’s eyes, lifeless, careless, dead...then all of a sudden the THING charged right at the glass backdoor Nicole screaming as soon as it’s dead, dirty, half-eaten body smashes into the glass leaving blood on the glass, her mum & dad finally rush downstairs confused, and a bit grumpy on how they woke them up Nicole's dad yells for her, “Nicole! Where are you? Why are you awake so early?!” Nicole replies really softly “Over here with Michaela….and there's something outside dad..” her mum and dad approach them, Michaela reminds them to stay quiet and be careful, they were confused but they did anyways Michaela and Nicole hid in the corner of the dining room scared, and can’t move. Nicole’s parents ask what's wrong, Nicole points to the glass backdoor…

Horrified, her parents grab her and Michaela takes them to Nicole’s bedroom, her dad said: “If anything happens...jump out of the window and get to a police station, tell them what you saw ok, make sure they come!” Dad closed the door and locked it. Nicole was panicking. She kept on saying “What if my parents get eaten as well..?!” Michaela kept on telling her that nothing was going to happen, but Michaela thought to herself “I can't be so sure..”. They sat in Nicole's room while listening to all the commotion that was going on downstairs with that thing and Nicole’s parents, eventually, they heard...

If you didn't read the last paragraph, it's on my blog as well.

My story called "Infection" - 1st paragraph

It was 4:45 am in the morning when Nicole heard a crash downstairs,
it wouldn’t have been her friend, Michaela, because she was still sleeping.

They had a very exciting sleepover, filled with energy last night...
Nicole woke up in shock wondering what was making such a loud noise so
early in the morning.

Nicole went downstairs, she was all tense and afraid because of what was
happening in this situation, her first instinct should have been to wake her parents but...
instead, she woke up her bestfriend Michaela and...
told her what she was hearing downstairs.

Michaela thought it’s probably just a bird, Nicole didn't think so.

Nicole ended up dragging Michaela downstairs when they were at the bottom of the stairs
they listened really carefully to see where the noise was coming from...
it was coming from the back glass door.

They slowly approach the door regretting the decision but do it anyway.

When they finally got to the dining room (where the back door is) they were horrified
by what they have just seen...it was a bloody handprint on the back door glass window,
Nicole and Michaela tried to scream but nothing came out.

As they get closer to the glass the more horrified they get they were witnessing a living,
breathing a real-life person being eaten alive by something that wasn't normal.

Nicole backed away from the window horrified saying “I’m gonna be sick.”
Michaela comforted her, but she as well was scared.

Eventually, the THING that was eating the person stopped...and looked up…
