Hello and welcome to my blog
today I'll be talking about Making Connections to Prior Learning!
Here are the following Strategies you should use to accomplish Connecting to Prior Learning.
1. Think about what we know before we begin reading.
2. List what we know about a theme or topic before reading.
3. Talk with our partner and/or group about what we know before reading
4. Ask ourselves: "How does this link to what I already know?"
5. Ask ourselves: "Does this make sense based on what I already know?"
6. Ask ourselves: "What information is new to me?"
7. Make connections between what we know and what we read to understand new information.
8. Make connections between people we know and people in the text.
9. Make connections between the places we know and the places in the text.
10. Make connections between this text and other texts you've read.
11. Talk with our partner and/or group about what new information we have learned from reading.
12. Add to the list new information we learned as we read.
Here is a description of what "Connection" means.
Connection is when something, or somebody connect in a unique way, like Peanut Butter and Jelly, Stop and go, Black and Yellow, Boy and Girl, all sorts of different ways it's like you're linked to something or someone, like if your best friend is hurt, like cant walk or something you never leave their side. You're linked to them.
